This is the true Italian recipe of the lasagna, and it will definitely make your friends happy.
In Italy the ingredients list is much longer, and this is a dish usually prepared during family meetings, especially on Sunday.
This dish needs 6 hours to be prepared, but if you prepare the sauces in advance you can prepare it the same day you need to serve it.
The ingredients to prepare this recipe are:
1 kg. Lasagna Sheet Pasta
1 kg Minced Beef Meat
300 gr. Canned Peas
300 gr. Sliced Ham
2 lt. Milk
140 gr. Flour
200 gr. Butter
1.5 lt. Tomato puree
5 tbsp Olive Oil
300 gr. Parmesan Cheese
To prepare this recipe:
Begin by preparing the minced meat sauce
Peel and finely chop the onion and the carrot.
Pour the olive oil in a large pot, and heat over low heat.
Add the chopped carrots and onion.
Cook for 5 minutes over low heat, then add the minced meat and increase the heat.
We now need the meat
Continue to cook until the meat has no more raw pieces, then srinkle with salt.
Taste the meat and add more salt if needed.
Add all of the tomato puree and put again over low heat.
Cook for 4 hours
, stirring occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the pot.
Once the minced meat sauce is ready, pour the canned peas in the pot.
Let everything cool down.
Place the butter in a small pan, then pour all of the milk in a large pot.
Melt the butter over medium heat, and once it’s molten add the flour and whisk.
Bring the milk to a boil, and once it starts to boil pour the flour and butter mix in the milk pot.
Stir and continue to cook the milk until it starts to thickens.
Once the bechamel sauce is capable of sticking to the spoon it’s ready.
Season with salt and pepper and cover immediately with cling film.
Bring a pot of water to boil, and add a pinch of salt.
Dip each lasagna pasta sheet in it for 3 minutes, then place them into cold water.
Dry the lasagna sheet down.
Take a large oven dish, and spread the base with a bit of the minced meat sauce and the bechamel sauce.
Place the lasagna sheet on it and begin to layer the ingredients:
Spread some minced meat sauce on the lasagna sheet, then pour the bechamel on top of it and spread with parmesan cheese and ham.
Cover the top part of the lasagna with the leftover bechamel, and spread all of the remaining parmesan cheese on it.
19.- Cook at 170°C for 15 minutes
in a preheated oven.
